Brett Saunders Fire Prevention Program

On Wednesday, January 15th our C.E.O. Justin Hummel stopped by the Herkimer Fire Department to donate 9 dozen smoke alarms for the "Brett Saunders Fire Prevention Program."

The donation is to assist the departments' efforts in equipping homes in Herkimer with new working smoke alarms. This was in honor of the 1 year anniversary of the E. Steele St. fire that claimed the lives of 3 young boys last January, 2 of whom were classmates of Brett Saunders.

Brett started this program as a random act of kindness to help his classmates at the elementary school get working smoke alarms in their home. The program has made waves in our community & we are very glad to be able to give back!

In addition to the alarms, we will also be donating $120 to further the department & program's purpose. This comes from our Corporate Office's monthly "Casual Week for Charity" where each month our partners donate to dress down for the week & a different charity is chosen.

On behalf of all of us at Hummel's Office Plus we want to thank Brett for his thoughtfulness & compassion & all the members of the Herkimer Fire Department for their brave & selfless efforts each & every day in keeping our community safe. We appreciate you all & thank you for having us!
